Perelman Jewish Day School in the Philadelphia area seeks a Learning Specialist to support students with learning differences for the 2026-2027 school year. The role collaborates with the Principal and coordinators to implement individualized learning plans and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; graduate degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of developmental needs and appropriate curricula.
• Deep knowledge of learning disabilities, psycho-educational tests, reports, and assistive technology.
• Differentiated instructional strategies across the curriculum.
• Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Technology skills including Google Suite and Google Classroom.
• Familiarity with ELL, Fundations, reading assessments that incorporate running records, hands-on math programs, problem solving, and abstract thinking; ABA therapy is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Partner proactively with faculty and administration to support diverse learners with academic, social, and behavioral needs.
• Observe and evaluate individual students displaying academic or behavioral difficulties and assess their learning strengths and challenges.
• Provide research-based instruction in formats: multi-aged self-contained classroom, co-teach inclusion classes, small group and one-on-one support as needed.
• Develop student accommodation/learning plans with goals and objectives with coordinators.
• Provide regular written student-progress reports to school and parents with assessment results.
• Maintain confidential student records and accurate session/meeting/assessment documentation.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication between student, family, school, and other professionals.
