Job summary

Drew School in San Francisco is seeking a Learning Specialist to support 9th–12th graders, manage Learning Plans, and coach executive function. The role collaborates with teachers to tailor instruction and assess progress, while providing 1:1 tutoring and family liaison services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in learning disabilities, special education, or educational psychology required.
• Minimum of 3 years in learning support, preferably with middle/high school students.
• Experience reading/interpreting psychoeducational, neuropsychological, or psychiatric reports.
• Background in diagnostic/remediation clinical work with mild-to-moderate learning disabilities.
• Experience coaching executive function and project management strategies.
• Experience collaborating with teachers to implement differentiation and support.

Responsibilities

• Manage student Learning Plans and review annually for accuracy; draft updates as needed.
• Conduct 40-minute 1:1 tutoring sessions with a designated cohort.
• Support reading comprehension strategies and writing-process development.
• Coach executive function skills and project management.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement differentiation and behavior support.
• Serve as a family liaison and coordinate with tutors and counselors.
• Participate in Student Support Team meetings and professional development.
• Proctor tests (PSAT/SAT) as scheduling allows.
