Job summary

Learning Services Coordinator

Position Summary: Support, coordinate, and facilitate projects and services provided by the Learning Services Directors to meet the instructional and assessment needs of students. The coordinator works with staff, students, families, and the Learning Services team to manage curriculum and assessments district‑wide, including SBA, WCAS, and HiCap testing, and oversees fine arts coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment
    • Coordinate with school‑based assessment coordinators on state and district assessments.
    • Train teachers and staff on assessment protocols, procedures, and systems.
    • Communicate testing timelines to stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain a district‑wide assessment calendar.
    • Coordinate annual/bi‑annual survey administration from outside organizations (EES, Asset, HYS).
    • Act as the district assessment coordinator alongside the state DAC (LS Director).
    • Arrange additional proctors for assessments.
    • Provide on‑site support during testing and assessment days.
    • Manage and distribute physical materials associated with testing (e.g., generating test IDs and tickets).
  • Curriculum and Technology Support
    • Assist teachers and schools with accessing curriculum materials.
    • Inventory current adoptions in schools and at the district office.
    • Manage the ordering and distribution of materials.
    • Support distribution and collection of technology devices.
  • Summer School Support
    • Provide support for Summer School initiatives.
  • Destination Imagination Oversight
    • Oversee the program and associated activities.
  • Professional Development
    • Assist Learning Services with research and design of professional development.
    • Secure locations and resources for trainings hosted by Learning Services Directors.
  • Other
    • Oversee the Fine Arts Program for the District.
    • Commit to implementing the district’s vision and mission, supporting academic success and learning needs of all students.
    • Manage fiscal resources, prepare budgets, and direct spending.
    • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and district staff, ensuring ongoing communication.
    • Maintain and update corresponding MISD webpages with current information about services, testing, and programs.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Supervise and evaluate staff related to the programs overseen by the coordinator.
Qualifications
  • Washington State admin certificate required.
  • Experience working with school teams across grade levels, departments, and content areas.
  • Experience ordering materials; generating purchase orders and finalizing orders with curriculum companies.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of tools to promote organized access to curriculum and assessment.
  • Experience communicating with schools and families about testing details, reports, and data.
  • Physical Demands
    • Frequently communicates through speech, sits, walks, stands, reaches forward, types non‑stop, lifts up to 10 pounds, hears conversation in quiet and noisy environments, and requires vision for close work.
