Overview

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

Position

Learning and Performance Training Coordinator (Hybrid Remote)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, plus two years of experience training or teaching.
  • Familiarity with modern and traditional training methods.
  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively.
  • Advanced database and computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
Principal Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver training programs, workshops or courses.
  2. Create training schedules, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and assist with maintaining training records for the agency.
  3. Use evaluation information from previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
  4. Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
  5. Recruit and train new trainers, delegate training tasks to the new trainers and evaluate performance.
  6. Promote agency training opportunities for employees and provide information on benefits to encourage participation.
  7. Recommend training materials and methods, assist with ordering and maintaining in-house training equipment and facilities.
