Job summary

Skechers USA Ltd. in Hermosa Beach, CA seeks an experienced Learning & Development professional to design and scale training across retail, warehouses and HQ. You will diagnose capability gaps, build engaging curricula, and measure impact to improve performance.

Responsibilities include onboarding and leadership development, producing e-learnings, Canva assets, and basic HTML/CSS with LMS tools. You’ll partner with HR and leaders to drive scalable learning initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in learning and development with both instructor-led and digital training.
• Retail, hospitality, or service industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Articulate, Canva, LMS platforms, and HTML/CSS.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; certifications welcomed.

About the Role

Learning at Skechers is not a support function. It is a growth driver. With thousands of employees across retail floors, warehouses, and headquarters, the distance between a well-trained team and an undertrained one shows up directly in performance and results.

You will partner with the Learning Team and company leaders to identify capability gaps, build programs that close them, and measure whether they worked. The scope runs wide, from frontline retail onboarding to leadership development, to digital e-learning initiatives that are built for scale. You will work with HR, business leaders, and subject matter experts to design curriculum that reflects how Skechers actually operates.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose before you build.Conduct structured assessments to identify performance, skill, and knowledge gaps across the organization. Your analysis shapes where the business invests in development, so rigor here matters as much as the content you eventually create.
• Design curriculum people actually use.Build programs and courses for audiences from individual contributors to senior leaders. Partner with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to turn complex knowledge into clear, engaging experiences across instructor‑led, digital, and blended formats.
• Own the tools.Develop e‑learnings, design assets inCanva, and troubleshoot web‑based modules independently. LMS administration and basicHTML/CSSare a plus.
• Run programs that develop people over time.Manage ongoing initiatives including onboarding, leadership and skills development. These are not one‑time launches. They require consistent coordination, iteration, and a direct connection to talent planning across the company.
• Measure what you build.Establish evaluation methods for content, delivery, engagement, and outcomes. Use performance metrics to validate knowledge transfer and ROI, including tools rolled out byHRIS partnersas part of the company’s learning and performance management infrastructure.
• Facilitate when it counts.Step in to deliver training sessions as needed. You do not need to be a career facilitator, but you need to hold a room and adjust when something is not landing.
• Build influence across the org.Partner with HR and business leaders to surface needs, recommend solutions, and get them deployed. Your ability toinfluence without authoritywill determine how far your programs actually reach.

What You’ll Bring

• 3 or more years in learning and development, with hands‑on experience designing, building, and delivering both instructor‑led and digital training. The right candidate has a portfolio that shows real instructional craft, not just facilitation history.
• Retail, hospitality, or service industry experience.You know how learning lands differently on a salesfloor than in a corporate classroom. First‑hand design experience for retail environments including product knowledge, client experience, leadership, and operations is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Articulate and working knowledge ofCanva, LMS platforms, and basicHTML/CSS.
• A bachelor's degreeor equivalent experience. Certifications inInstructional Design, Design Thinking, or Kirkpatrick Measurementare preferred.
• Strong writing skills, including experience writing in a brand voice. Your content represents Skechers to its own people. Clarity, consistency, and personality are the standard.
• The confidence to work consultatively at every level.You will influence executives, collaborate with frontline managers, and navigate competing priorities. Credibility and listening skills are not optional here.
• A resourceful, results‑driven work style.You manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing momentum. You bring structure to ambiguity and follow through without needing to be chased.

Pay range for this position is $85,000 - $105,000/year USD.
