Job summary

Lexington School District Two Fulmer Middle School in West Columbia, SC seeks a Special Education - Learning Disabilities Teacher. The role reports to the Principal and focuses on planning instruction and adapting education programs for students with disabilities.

The educator will instruct, plan lessons, monitor progress, maintain the classroom, communicate with parents, and prepare necessary educational records and evaluations to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education.
• Teaching certificate with Learning Disabilities or Multicategorical special education endorsement.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Instructs individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
• Plans curriculum, lessons, and special ed programs and teaching methods.
• Evaluates student progress based on papers, tests and observation.
• Monitors student progress in and outside the special ed room.
• Maintains the physical environment of the classroom.
• Maintains contact with parents of students.
• Prepares report cards, educational records and IEPC forms.
• Other duties may be assigned.
