Job summary

Central Jersey College Prep Charter School in Somerset, NJ, is seeking a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to join the Student Support Services team. The LDTC conducts comprehensive evaluations, develops IEPs, and collaborates with families and staff to implement educational recommendations.

The position requires a Master’s degree, NJ Educational Services Certificate with LDTC endorsement, and compliance with state laws.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field.
• NJ Educational Services Certificate & LDTC endorsement.
• NJ Criminal History is required.
• Work authorization in the U.S. is required.
• Tuberculosis test compliance is required.
• Experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and prepare legally compliant reports.
• Participate in CST meetings and IEP development.
• Collaborate with families and staff to explain results and recommendations.
• Provide consultation and instructional support to teachers.
• Assist with progress monitoring and data-informed decisions.

Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC)

Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct comprehensive educational evaluations and prepare legally compliant reports
• Participate in Child Study Team (CST) meetings, including identification, eligibility, annual review, and reevaluation meetings.
• Contribute to the development and revision of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with families and staff to explain evaluation results and educational recommendations.
• Provide consultation and instructional support to general and special education teachers
• Assist with progress monitoring and data-informed decision making
• Ensure compliance with NJDOE, IDEA, and charter school policies
• Maintain accurate, confidential student records and required documentation
• Serve as a consultant to parents, school personnel and community groups on child development and educational topics.
• Perform all duties required as a member of the child study team by administrative code, state, and federal laws and board policy
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education and other professional growth activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Education Officer or Director of Special Education.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with students, families, staff, and leadership
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal policies and ethical standards
  Maintain strong organizational and documentation practices
• Demonstrate professionalism that supports a positive school culture

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of special education law and evaluation procedures
• Competency with educational testing and report writing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with state law, administrative code and provisions of the board's policy on the evaluation of certified staff

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university;
