Salem Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Learning Disabilities) for the 26/27 school year. The role involves planning and delivering specialized instruction to students with disabilities and collaborating with general and special education staff to support IEP goals.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and Virginia licensure/endorsement, with prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized instruction with individualized planning for students with disabilities.
• Collaborates with general and special education teachers to interpret student needs and support curriculum.
• Maintains records of student performance and IEP progress, including progress reports and report cards.
• Assists in screening and recommending placements for the division's special education program.
• Serves on an interdisciplinary team to provide appropriate educational programs for students with disabilities.
• Holds periodic conferences with parents and/or home visits as needed.
• Keeps up-to-date with developments in special education and pursues ongoing professional growth.
• Complies with all special education procedures and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
