Job Description:

We are looking to hire in either Kansas City, New York or Chicago.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in instructional design, training delivery, program management, and relationship building. This role requires someone to be proactive and collaborative, comfortable delivering training presentations, and facilitating professional development discussions with senior leaders. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and managing learning and development initiatives that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This position reports to the Director of Learning & Leadership Development, part of the Global Talent Management Team within Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design:
  • Develop engaging and effective learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and other resources.

  • Utilize adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create impactful training solutions.

  • Incorporate multimedia elements and interactive components to enhance learning experiences.

  • Leverage AI tools to create learning content such as script writing, videos, and audio. Be comfortable using AI or willing to learn AI as part of the instructional design toolkit.

Training Delivery:
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees at all levels, both virtually and in-person.

  • Adapt training delivery methods to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of participants.

  • Provide engaging, interactive learning that develops skills, ensures knowledge retention, and encourages practical use.

  • Conduct soft skills training programs that enhance communication, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and other interpersonal competencies.

  • Deliver management and leadership training sessions, both live and virtual, with confidence and credibility. Be comfortable engaging with and lead training for participants ranging from Supervisors to Executive levels

Program Management:
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of learning and development programs, from needs assessment and design to implementation and evaluation.

  • Oversee learning programs, e.g., Management & Leadership Foundations, Leadership Engagement Series, Employee Development Series, Leadership Pathways, Set for Success: Manager Onboarding, Global Onboarding, etc.

  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of learning initiatives and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Relationship Building:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify learning needs and requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with internal departments to ensure alignment of learning initiatives with organizational objectives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource for employees seeking professional development opportunities.

Initiative and Collaboration:
  • Take initiative to identify opportunities for enhancing employee skills, competencies, and knowledge.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to brainstorm ideas, solve problems, and deliver high-quality learning solutions.

  • Proactively seek feedback and incorporate suggestions for improvement into learning programs.

  • Ensure all initiatives are within the scope of the Talent Management strategy.

Global and Cultural Competence:
  • Be comfortable working with a geographically diverse audience on a global scale. Adapt training content and delivery to accommodate cultural differences and diverse learning preferences.

  • Foster a learning environment that respects and values the perspectives of participants from different cultures.

Qualifications (Required):
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on instructional design and training delivery.

  • Proven track record of developing innovative and engaging learning solutions.

  • Comfortable with technology to create engaging learning solutions, utilizing multimedia elements, interactive components, and AI tools to enhance the learning experience

  • Strong program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Adept at designing and delivering leadership development content tailored to different leadership levels and business needs.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse audiences.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business needs.

  • Comfortable measuring and reporting on training effectiveness, utilizing data analytics and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve learning programs.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
  • Proven ability to support learning and development initiatives within the broader talent management strategy.

  • Skilled in facilitating 360-degree feedback processes, including interpreting results, coaching leaders, and helping create actionable development plans based on feedback insights.

  • Proficient in administering or interpreting leadership assessments.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching leaders at various levels to support their growth and performance.

  • Strong cultural competence and ability to work effectively with diverse audiences.

  • Experience supporting professional development through 360-degree feedback processes, including helping to create development plans based on feedback insights.

The Compensation range for this role is 100,000.00 to 125,000.00 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus.
