The Learning and Teaching Lead Librarian and Clerk provides comprehensive support to both the districts’ library services and the Learning and Teaching Department. This dual-role position ensures the effective operation of district-wide library systems while also delivering high-level administrative and secretarial support to departmental leadership. The coordinator plays a key role in instructional resource management, professional development logistics, and communication across schools and staff.

Library Oversight & Instructional Support :

Manages the district-wide library information system, including circulation, inventory, and safeguarding of materials.

Stays current on Governing Board Policies and procedures, including library materials selection and adoption.

Develops and updates instructional lesson plans for paraprofessionals, in collaboration with curriculum content coaches.

Provides guidance and training to library paraprofessionals and ensures consistent communication across school sites.

Assists students and staff in the selection and use of library and instructional resources, including technology tools.

Orders, catalogs, and promotes new library materials; removes outdated or damaged items from collections.

Maintains a positive and productive library environment, promoting appropriate student conduct and responsible technology use.

Oversees the care, storage, and maintenance of library and instructional equipment.

Provides support to the Learning and Teaching Department, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing correspondence.

Coordinates and prepares logistics for district and professional development events, including facility reservations and documentation.

Compiles, maintains, and updates departmental records, databases, and reports with accuracy and confidentiality.

Assists with departmental projects, timelines, and communications to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of initiatives.

Supports the review and recommendation process for instructional and library materials.

Attends required district trainings and performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and district goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

A high school diploma or GED AND the equivalent of two years of college or a passing score on a state-approved competency examination. In addition, experience working in a library setting preferred along with two (2) years of relevant receptionist, clerical, customer service, office support, or closely related experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check

May be required to work outside normal working hours

May be required to lift and / or carry heavy, bulky supplies, materials, equipment, and other items weighing up to 35 pounds

May be required to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license
