Learning and Development Specialist – Part Time

Location: Fargo, North Dakota

Job Summary

The Learning and Development Specialist provides coordination, learning, and development of Sanford employees, students, and/or community members. The main responsibility is content delivery facilitating to a smaller group of individuals either in-person at one of our onsite computer labs, or a larger group virtually from our onsite office.

Responsibilities

  1. Customizes curriculum and develops training materials to ensure that organizational and stakeholder needs are met.
  2. Delivers training utilizing adult learning principles and training methods.
  3. Maintains and updates existing training and education programs.
  4. Performs quality checks to ensure course functionalities and objectives are met.
  5. Provides training in various formats, including behind-the-scenes build and design, software-based training, classroom setting both virtually and in-person, and orientation for small and large groups.
  6. Creates online learning modules and delivers webinars and classroom training based on department needs and curriculum.
  7. Collaborates with remote subject matter experts on training content design, build, and maintenance.
  8. Develops strong working relationships, manages projects, facilitates change processes, and communicates effectively to achieve organizational goals.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; field of study preferred based on department focus and specialties.
  2. Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare environment providing education/training, including the use of automated software applications.
  3. Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on service excellence.
  5. Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  6. Comfortable with training technology and troubleshooting minor issues.
  7. Familiarity with distance learning tools such as Zoom, WebEx, and MS Teams.
  8. Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
