Job summary

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in instructional design and curriculum development with adult learning theory at the core.
  • Strong writing and content-development skills to translate SME input into clear training materials.
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate, Camtasia, Canva or similar is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for multiple projects.
  • Ability to partner with SMEs across departments to translate content.
  • Familiarity with industrial, construction, or trade environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training materials in collaboration with SMEs across Craft, Internal Operations, and admin teams.
  • Create Facilitator's Guides, learner workbooks, job aids, and other assets aligned to templates and design conventions.
  • Refine existing trainings based on stakeholder and SME feedback.
  • Develop Guru cards and other eLearning content for the enterprise knowledge library.
  • Apply ADDIE and backward design throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with L&D Manager on curriculum architecture and multi-track frameworks.
  • Support research and benchmarking to inform curriculum design decisions.

Overview:

As an individual contributor, this Learning and Development Specialist role is a chance to build deep instructional design and curriculum development expertise within a growing L&D function. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, this position focuses on translating subject matter into high-quality facilitator and learner materials that support our Craft Trainers, as well as the rest of the professional and administrative staff in the organization. Although there are no direct reports now, the role could evolve with growth and responsibility over time. This position is also an entry point into a Learning and Development team that is expected to grow and evolve over time as the enterprise scales.

Responsibilities:
  • Instructional design and curriculum development of training materials: Partner with SMEs across Craft, Internal Operations, and professional/administrative teams to translate subject matter into facilitator and learner materials.
  • Design and build Facilitator's Guides, learner workbooks, job aids, and other training materials aligned to enterprise-standard templates and design conventions.
  • Support the ongoing refinement of existing trainings, incorporating stakeholder and subject matter expert feedback into revised curriculum and materials.
  • Develop Guru cards and other eLearning and quick-reference content assets to support the enterprise knowledge library.
  • Apply adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, backward design) throughout the content development lifecycle.
  • Partner with the Learning and Development Manager on curriculum architecture and multi-track training frameworks.
  • Support research and analysis efforts, including peer and industry benchmarking, to inform curriculum design decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Hands‑on experience in instructional design and curriculum development, with adult learning theory at the core.
  • Strong writing and content-development skills, with the ability to translate SME and technical input into clear, usable training materials.
  • Proficiency with instructional design and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Canva, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent content‑development projects.
  • Comfortable partnering with subject matter experts across departments to gather and translate content.
  • Background or familiarity with industrial, construction, or trade environments is a plus, though not required.
Education/Certification:
  • BA/BS in Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Learning, or related field, or equivalent certifications and proven work experience.
  • Experience developing training content and materials, including design, drafting, and iterative revision based on feedback.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPLP, CIDD, LXD) are a plus.

  • Potentially lift up to 50 pounds
