Job summary

IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union in Moline, IL is seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to lead onboarding and training across the organization. You will create, deliver, and improve trainings for a variety of topics, using in-person and virtual formats.

The role requires knowledge of financial services, adult learning principles, and strong communication and presentation skills. You will manage the Learning Management System and translate business needs into effective learning

Qualifications

• 2+ years of training experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of training and development practices, needs assessment, and instruction design for instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended training.
• Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and technology in general.
• Experience with blended learning and eLearning tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and present training sessions in person and virtually.
• Design training materials in areas of sales, service, and credit union concepts.
• Survey and identify needs for ongoing organizational development.
• Update stakeholders on learning progress and priorities.
• Manage the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Translate business needs into effective learning solutions.
• Assist in development and implementation of new or updated operations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Project Management, Human Resources or other relevant area

This role is located at our beautiful headquarters on River Drive in Moline, IL. This facility includes a comfortable office environment with an on-site gym facility.

Summary of Position:

The Learning & Development Specialist plays a critical role in the onboarding, learning and development of our team. The position is responsible for creating, delivering and continually improving trainings on a variety of topics, in a variety of ways. This position requires financial institution knowledge, adult learning acumen, and excellent communication and presentation skills. The Learning and Development Specialist is also responsible for staying current with technology and learning-method knowledge.

The successful candidate should have following skills/qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Project Management, Human Resources or other relevant area preferred.
• At least 2 years of training experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of training and development practices and methods including needs assessment and instruction design for instructor led, virtual, online, and blended training
• Knowledge of learning theories and principles including adult learning theory
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and technology in general
• Experience with blended learning approach and eLearning tools preferred
• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and on-the-job leadership skills
• Enthusiastic about adult learning

Key Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements
