Penn State IT invites a Learning Analytics Data Scientist to join the Data Empowered Learning team. You will design, validate, and deploy models that identify at-risk students and engagement patterns, and you will build data workflows from Canvas, Starfish, and SIS to power insights for campus leaders.

Collaborate with academic and IT partners to translate complex analyses into practical tools and dashboards.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with Python data stack for cleaning, feature engineering, and modeling.
• Strong SQL skills to extract and manipulate relational data.
• Experience with regression, clustering, and experimental design.
• Ability to translate technical findings into executive-level narratives.

Aufgaben

• Design, validate, and deploy predictive and descriptive models for student success.
• Architect and maintain data workflows from Canvas, Starfish, and SIS.
• Perform EDA to reveal trends and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement insights into practice.
• Develop production-ready code and CI/CD pipelines, and deploy APIs.
