Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Continuous Improvement/Change Agent to drive Lean transformation and strengthen a culture of operational excellence. You will support Lean adoption across operations while partnering with leaders to improve efficiency, eliminate waste, and sustain excellence.

The role emphasizes training, coaching, and collaborating with site leaders to implement rapid improvement, standard work, and visual management, in a on-site setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to facilitate group activities using a defined process.
• Leadership presence to energize inclusive teams.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct process mapping to assess efficiency and effectiveness of current operations.
• Review procedures and controls to identify waste and develop improvement plans.
• Plan and execute Rapid Improvement Events and Just Do Its to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
• Train and coach line leaders and office staff on problem-solving and Lean principles.
• Support adherence to Rapid Improvement Event standard work through engagement during all phases.
• Foster culture change by training and coaching employees to adopt Lean behaviours and Operational Excellence practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to resolve issues during implementation and maintenance.
