Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Lean/Kaizen professional to drive foundational and transformational competencies within the Lean Organization across the plant. You will partner with Operations to reduce manufacturing cost, increase efficiency, and drive waste out of processes while supporting safety and quality goals.

Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating 3–4 Kaizen events annually, coaching teams, tracking cost savings, and collaborating with Engineering and Finance to realize lean

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; BS degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years lean and/or operational experience.
  • Ability to promote culture change and act as an agent of lean thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for working safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Develop lean skills and facilitate Kaizen events at the plant.
  • Plan and facilitate 3–4 Kaizen events per year with Lean Organization support.
  • Track cost savings per Kaizen event and coordinate with Engineering and Finance to realize savings.
  • Support the site’s 5S program and participate in Gemba audits.
  • Plan and implement workplace flow/layout improvements and assess new equipment moves.
  • Collaborate with Lean Manufacturing Supervisor and sister sites for best-practice migration.
