Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Lean Engineer to drive foundational and transformational lean competencies across the plant, focusing on cost reduction, safety, quality, and delivery.

You will partner with Operations and the Lean Manufacturing Supervisor to improve performance and cut waste, while leading multiple Kaizen events yearly and mentoring teams in lean methods. The role requires 2–4 years of Lean Engineering experience, a BS in Industrial Engineering, and strong collaboration with

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering strongly preferred).
• 2–4 years of Lean Engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools.

Responsibilities

• Directly perform lean work safely and maintain a safe environment.
• Develop lean skills within the plant and train others when needed.
• Plan and facilitate Kaizen events (3–4 per year) with clear deliverables.
• Track cost savings and coordinate with Engineering and Finance.
• Support 5S program and participate in Gemba audits.
• Own Value Stream Map upkeep and coordinate cost reduction projects.
