LEAN SPECIALIST

The Lean Manufacturing Engineer’s primary responsibility for the development and deployment of the tools, methods and processes that make-up the Parker Lean system (PLS). Ability to lead and facilitate lean kaizen events to drive business performance improvement. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates and allocates the daily continuous improvement activities to meet company objectives
  • Collects, analyzes and reports product data and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Utilizes the team’s knowledge to drive improvements and best practices
  • Recommends solutions to complex problems and implements corrective actions
  • Effectively applies improvement initiatives for all related activities in the facility
  • Manages training and skills enhancement for all employees with respect to continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Provides technical expertise and implements lean principles, techniques and methods
Education and Experience
  • Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree (Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Year of experience: 3-5 years or more of relevant experience

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Ability to research and analyze data effectively
  • Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports
  • Good/Strong/Excellence verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders
  • Track record of building and maintaining customer/client relationships
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
  • Strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
  • Supervisory skills, including delegation, training and evaluating performance
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
  • Ability to develop strategic plans to grow the business
  • Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, procedures and standards policy and procedure development techniques
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to federal and state tax codes
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications
  • Intermediate level knowledge of PC software applications and strong understanding of PC operating systems
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (i.e., SAP)
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Expert technical knowledge of software applications, processes, products, and hardware architecture
  • Knowledge of Windows Server components including the registry, file systems, services, and system management tools
