Qualifications

Position Summary

Leads the division in the adoption, implementation, and operationalization of the Parker Lean System (PLS). Ensures full PLS education and implementation in all functional areas at the division and site levels to ensure consistency and sustainability. Measures and reports progress on an on-going basis using the Win Scorecard and PLS Lean Journey Assessment. Provides continuous improvement leadership and direction to the Division Staff.

Reports to the General Manager. Interacts routinely with all division functional areas, as well as with customers, suppliers, site staff and group/corporate management.

NVH is a global division with $530M in annual sales, containing two Business Units - Industrial Equipment (IE) and Aerospace & Defense (A&D).

Responsibilities

Guides all PLS initiatives within the Division. Works with Division staff and Plant level management on Lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented Division-wide

Ensures adherence to PLS standards at the Division for the Sites, Value Streams and Team Improvement boards enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey. Supports Plant/Site Lean Leaders through Kaizen events and required/special team meetings

Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals. Including development and coordination of division-wide standardization of manufacturing processes to support productivity and quality improvements, including the development and deployment of tools such as PFMEA to mitigate failures in the manufacturing environment.

Engages in and/or leads key Automation initiatives across the division while utilizing Lean tools to ensures processes are optimized prior to automation.

Helps develop and educate Plant/Site Lean Leaders and team members with an emphasis on championing the Division's goals, objectives, and implementation plans relative to the Lean Journey Assessment, Division Strategy Deployment, and Future State Site Plans. Supports the deployment and development of High-Performance Teams (HPTs) across Division sites.

Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Staff and Group Lean Director. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved to the Division Staff and the Corporate Lean Leader, as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard. Shares \"best practice\" methods and ideas with Division Staff and Group Lean Director.

Leads the Division annual operations cost improvement initiative process (Relentless Focus on Cost). Collaborates with all global sites to set annual improvement goals. Works cross-functionally to remove obstacles and support all global sites in achieving annual improvement goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or other related discipline. Master's degree (MS or MBA) strongly preferred.

Seven or more years of professional accomplishments including increasing responsibility and leadership of projects and teams of considerable size, scope, and complexity within a manufacturing environment. Previous experience in the areas of Lean, operations leadership and/or manufacturing engineering leadership.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the demonstrated ability to coach and facilitate across all levels of the organization.

Current knowledge of the latest manufacturing technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity.

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
