Job summary

Atlas Copco US in Houston, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes, improve downtime, and raise quality across the compressor techniques area. You will partner with QA, maintenance, planning, and operations to embed robust controls and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma to drive efficiency and quality
• Proficiency with data analysis (Excel) and ERP systems
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering, production optimization, or process improvement
• Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and quality controls is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead root‑cause analyses of production issues using 5 Whys, Fishbone, and 8D to implement corrective actions.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to maximize stability and throughput using SPC and data‑driven methods.
• Manage spare parts, inspection gauges, and raw materials to prevent delays and support quality inspections.
• Maintain ISO compliance through process documentation and coordination of audits.
• Analyze manufacturing data trends to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Lead projects on equipment upgrades, process validations, and first‑article inspections.
• Collaborate with SHEQ teams to uphold safety, environmental stewardship, and LOTO/JSA.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, Control Plans, and Engineering Change Requests for knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical training and support to production staff to sustain quality and excellence.
