Job summary

FXI is seeking a Quality Problem Solving Engineer to drive quality improvement across its manufacturing network. You will lead root cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and work with cross-functional teams to prevent recurrence.

Based at a FXI plant and traveling 50–70% to support multiple locations, you will apply Lean, Red X, and 8D methodologies to reduce variation and improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing quality, process engineering, or operations experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Ability to travel 50-70% to support multiple plant locations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Root Cause Investigations by assessing manufacturing, process, product, and customer quality issues and selecting the most effective problem-solving approach.
  • Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions through rapid containment, root cause identification, implementation, validation, and sustainability of solutions.
  • Facilitate Structured Problem-Solving using methods such as Red X, 3-Legged 5-Why, and Is/Is Not Analysis to resolve complex issues.
  • Identify and Reduce Process Variation by applying Shainin Red X principles and practical experimentation techniques.
  • Analyze Trends and Systemic Issues across facilities to identify recurring problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead Read Across Initiatives to standardize lessons learned and deploy best practices.
  • Champion Lean Quality Principles by eliminating waste and simplifying processes.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
