Sonoco Products Company in Chestnut Hill, TN is seeking a production supervisor to oversee safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping. You will supervise crew, coordinate training, maintain records, and ensure efficient operations.

The role requires a BS degree, LEAN experience, and strong leadership. Expect 12-hour shifts, overtime, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, retirement plan, PTO and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree required.
• LEAN practices (5s, Kaizen, Standard Work) and problem solving experience.
• Broad experience usually acquired through working in a manufacturing plant.
• Working knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
• Ability to apply evaluation and adaptation of standard plant production techniques.
• Proficient in implementing 5S principles for efficient workplace organization.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety practices and SOPs; follows company policies.
• Supervises department/production staff to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
• Coordinates training, maintains production records and downtime data.
• Leads problem solving to address production, quality and safety issues.
• Monitors equipment parts and performs maintenance planning as needed.
• Reviews schedules and prepares work orders; manages area procedures.
• Supports emergency procedures and communicates effectively within the plant.
• Other duties as assigned.
