Job summary

JTEKT Automotive in Morristown, TN is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a department of group leaders, team leaders and technicians. You will develop operating plans, manage budgets, and drive improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and safety.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering with 6+ years in mass-production and proven supervisory experience, plus strong communication skills and lean methodology knowledge.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering and/or 6 or more years experience in mass-production manufacturing.
• Supervisory experience for 3 years or more preferred.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with lean production concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to manufacturing department consisting of group leaders, team leaders and technicians.
• Develop an annual operating plan for department to support company operating planning cycle.
• Plan capital and expense budget requirements.
• Be accountable to operating plan and financial commitments.
• Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, cost and safety objectives.
• Identify training and development needs for department team members.
• Support continuous improvement through Kaizen and leading positive change.
• Support company policy and administer fairly and consistently.
• Facilitate good communications with leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolution.
• Maintain efficiency through lean manufacturing principles, human resource planning, and flexibility.
