Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director of Operational Excellence in De Soto, KS, to lead Lean initiatives across the value stream and coach cross-functional teams toward safer, higher quality, and cost-efficient operations for veterinary products.

You will apply Lean tools (5S, Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping) and manage strategic improvement projects, developing colleagues at all levels while driving strong performance and continuous improvement culture as a key member of our Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in project management, biology, engineering, or a relevant field.
• 5-7 years of demonstrable work experience with continuous improvement in biopharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or quality.
• Experience coaching staff in continuous improvement and leading project teams.
• Proficiency with data analysis, trend visualization, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, implement, and coach improvement projects using Lean tools to improve performance, safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Lead regional cost-saving projects and governance with cross-functional teams.
• Coach lean roadmaps and develop colleagues at all levels while managing several tasks.
