Job summary

Schneider Electric in Fairfield, OH is seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern to support manufacturing and operations teams in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity initiatives. You will work with operators, supervisors, and engineers to map processes, eliminate waste, and sustain standard work on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include time studies, Kaizen participation, 5S, data collection, and developing Excel-based trackers and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, or Electrical Engineering.
• Fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Experience with 5S and visual management concepts.
• Familiarity with value stream mapping and root-cause analysis.
• Proficient in Excel and data visualization tools.
• Able to work in Fairfield, OH for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement and Lean projects on the shop floor.
• Conduct time studies and cycle-time analysis to find waste.
• Analyze processes to identify bottlenecks and non-value-added activities.
• Participate in Kaizen events and 5S initiatives.
• Develop standard work, work instructions, and process maps.
• Create Excel trackers and dashboards to document results.
• Test improvement ideas with operators and supervisors on the line.
• Present progress to manufacturing leadership.
