Job summary

Textron Specialized Vehicles in the United States is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to plan layouts, optimize production processes, and establish time standards for cost-effective, safe manufacturing. You will train personnel and develop standard work to maintain process capability.

The role emphasizes Lean methods, tooling coordination, and Engineering Change Notices to ensure producibility and efficient operations within Textron plants.

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 0-2 years of experience required.
• Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office, CAD, SAP.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement shop layouts to improve material flow and increase plant capacity and coordinate placement of new equipment to optimize existing shop capacities and new production processes.
• Develop and implement efficient and safe work methods, lean material process flows, and ensure equipment and tooling for products is efficient and cost effective.
• Provide training, written instructions, and standard work related to products to manufacturing personnel for critical processes to develop and maintain process capability.
• Establish time standards by use of approved Industrial engineering practices for accurate measurement of work performed and facilitate the appropriate approvals to implement into costing system.
• Evaluate production processes to increase productivity and investigate new methods of enhancing the product.
• Coordinate material and tooling availability with appropriate stakeholders.
• Process and implement Engineering Change Notices for products to ensure the design is producible as drawn, methods are defined via routing, and that all time standards, process plans, work plans, and tool orders are defined appropriately.
