Job summary

DwyerOmega in the United States is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to help optimize processes, improve quality, and reduce costs across our global manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with Value Stream teams to apply lean methods, design tools and equipment, and support senior engineers in development of manufacturing processes.

The role requires a BS in Engineering and at least three years of manufacturing experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with solid modeling and materials knowledge.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Value Stream team to identify and apply continuous improvement methods to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
  • Designs, develops, tests or sources and cost-justifies tools, machinery, and equipment for manufacturing methods.
  • Supports senior engineers in research, design and development of manufacturing processes including welding schedules, production flow, assembly methods, production equipment and machining.
  • Project management of identified capital equipment projects
  • Applies failure analysis to determine root causes of problems and develops solutions or changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Evaluates equipment requirements, performs cost analyses, and proposals for integrating machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.
  • Coordinates all pre-production activities including sample evaluation, design qualification and prototype production.
  • Provides documentation and detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly of materials, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes or engineering procedures.
  • Proficient with design software to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of best practice Lean vision, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Assist technicians and/or maintenance with troubleshooting, building and/or assembly of various machines and equipment as necessary.
