Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Shawnee, OK is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to lead and coordinate the site’s CI initiatives. The role focuses on building the CI Team, evaluating operations for waste, and driving Kaizen projects to improve performance.

The coordinator will train staff in Lean principles, implement VSM, 5S, and Kanban systems, and produce regular improvement reports. 1–3 years lean experience preferred; HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• 1–3 years of lean manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of 5S, Kanban, standardized workflow, VSM, Kaizen, and visual environment/factory practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish and build the plant’s Continuous Improvement Team.
• Coordinate Lean initiative activities with CI Team.
• Evaluate operations to identify waste and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate VSM and Kaizen activities.
• Develop, prioritize, and implement waste-reducing improvements.
• Document and standardize improvements.
• Teach, coach, and mentor all staff in CI and manufacturing principles.
• Train employees to identify and eliminate waste.
• Develop programs to foster CI culture and involvement.
• Attend seminars and training and share knowledge with plant staff.
• Prepare regular and special reports as required.
• Perform other duties as needed.
