Job summary

SPXFlow is seeking a college co-op student to join our Mixing Industry Continuous Improvement Team. The student will help improve manufacturing processes focusing on error reduction, waste minimization, and better material flow.

Tools used include SAP, A3 Problem Solving, Lean methodologies, MS Office, and AutoCAD. The co-op is expected to complete 1-2 A3 projects and several smaller focus improvements, gaining hands-on experience in process analysis and equipment layout within a manufacturing

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field is preferred.
• Experience with design and tooling for manufacturing processes is preferred.
• Strong problem solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing production processes, identify work elements, time them and optimize balance.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, and simple equipment for products and processes.
• Apply Lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Design and implement capital equipment projects and cost justifications.
• Create work instructions, procedures and standard work documents.
