Job summary

Central Moloney seeks a detail-oriented Leafer for our transformer production line in Arkansas. You will perform leafing operations, assemble core steel around coils, and ensure quality through inspections.

You will read work instructions, follow procedures, and use hoists and hand tools as part of a fast-paced team environment. OT and shift work may apply.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and production documentation.
  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform measurements as required.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and powered tools used in manufacturing.
  • Experience operating hoists or other material-handling equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform leafing operations by assembling transformer core steel around coil assemblies in accordance with work instructions, specifications, and established procedures.
  • Install required core components and hardware, including steel, blocking, padding, clips, frames, and other materials as specified.
  • Position and align core steel and components to ensure proper fit and assembly.
  • Read and follow applicable work instructions, specifications, production documentation, and customer requirements.
  • Use assigned hand tools, powered tools, hoists, and other equipment required to perform leafing operations.
  • Perform required visual and dimensional quality checks to verify core assemblies meet established specifications and quality requirements.
  • Identify and report damaged materials, assembly issues, defects, or other nonconforming conditions to supervision.
  • Maintain tools, materials, and supplies necessary to support assigned production activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, work instructions, and PPE requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet safety, quality, and production goals.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform leafing operations by assembling transformer core steel around coil assemblies in accordance with work instructions, specifications, and established procedures.

  • Install required core components and hardware, including steel, blocking, padding, clips, frames, and other materials as specified.

  • Position and align core steel and components to ensure proper fit and assembly.

  • Read and follow applicable work instructions, specifications, production documentation, and customer requirements.

Shift Information


  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

  • 3rd Shift - Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

  • All new hires start on 2nd Shift unless discussed

  • Overtime may be required, including early start times or later end times.


Physical Demands:

This position requires prolonged periods of standing and/or walking and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand and arm movements. The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. Additional physical requirements may apply based on the specific equipment, materials, and processes associated with the position. The position requires sufficient visual ability to safely perform assigned work, read work instructions and equipment markings, distinguish and identify components or materials as required by the job, inspect work as applicable, recognize workplace hazards, and safely operate or work around manufacturing equipment. The position requires sufficient hearing ability to communicate in a manufacturing environment and recognize relevant equipment sounds, audible warning signals, alarms, and other conditions necessary to safely perform essential job functions. The physical, vision, and hearing requirements described above represent those necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Qualified individuals must be able to perform these essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.


Working Conditions:


  • Work is performed in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving machinery, and powered material-handling equipment.

  • Work may be performed near ovens and other equipment that generates elevated temperatures.

  • Required to work around forklifts, hoists, powered tools, and other industrial equipment.

  • Required use of applicable personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with established safety procedures.
