Job summary

The City of Reidsville is seeking a temporary general laborer to assist with the collection and disposal of loose leaves along city routes during the annual leaf season (Early November 2026 through January 2027). The role involves bagged leaves, vacuuming with a specialty truck, and use of a leaf blower and other basic tools.

This seasonal position is temporary; successful candidates may be invited to apply for a regular, full-time position at season's end.

Job description

This position performs responsible general labor work in the collection and disposal of loose leaves through City routes.

This is a temporary position with the City of Reidsville. However, if you are successful in this role, you may be invited to apply for a regular, full-time position at the end of leaf season.

LOOSE LEAF SEASON RUNS:

Early November 2026 through January 2027

An employee in this position is responsible for collection of loose leaves throughout the City of Reidsville. This includes bagged leaves, and vacuuming leaves with our specialty truck. Use of a leaf blower, rake and other tools associated with general labor work is required.Employee must possess a working knowledge of the methods and techniques applied in general labor work.

• Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment utilized in the area of assigned work.
• Must work cooperatively as a team member and respond courteously to citizens.
• Employee must possess the ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.
• Background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical required.
• EOEWorking knowledge of standard hand tools, operation of light equipment, and materials used in assigned work is preferred.
