• Actively seek and establish collaborations with world-leading scientists.
• Define and implement strategic refurbishments and upgrades.

The Position

• Take responsibility for full scientific exploitation of the Small Quantum Systems (SQS) instrument dealing with atomic, molecular and small cluster spectroscopic and imaging research
• Provide strategic leadership to foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team environment that empowers members to achieve research objectives and develop their professional skills
• Develop and communicate a clear scientific vision in cooperation with the scientific director
• Actively seek and establish collaborations with world-leading scientists, foster a strong user community, and engage in outreach activities to further expand the user base.
• Define and implement strategic refurbishments and upgrades to ensure the SQS instrument maintains its state-of-the-art status
• Contribute to shaping and implementing the long-term vision of the European XFEL as an international lighthouse research facility
