Job summary

Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH seeks an Assistant Athletics Director for Leadership & Mental Performance to coordinate mental skills development for varsity student-athletes, teams, and coaches. The role provides one-on-one support, team trainings, and coach consultations to boost performance and well-being.

Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director for Peak Performance, you will collaborate with the DP2 team to advance leadership programming, wellness initiatives, and performance outcomes

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in sport psychology or related field.
• Five years of progressive experience in mental performance consulting.
• Experience developing, implementing, evaluating leadership and mental performance programming.
• Knowledge of empirically supported leadership frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, and group facilitation.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental performance consultation to student-athletes and coaches.
• Offer one-on-one sessions and team mental training.
• Conduct multi-method assessments to identify needs and concerns.
• Identify potential mental health concerns and refer to counseling services.
• Attend practices and games to provide feedback and support.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of mental performance services.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary peak performance team for holistic care.
• Operate the Mental Performance Lab to deliver cognitive training.
