Job summary

Rockwell Automation is launching a Leadership Development Program beginning January 2027. The program spans 1–2 years and includes Engineer in Training track, hands-on field service and classroom training across multiple locations in Ohio and the Midwest.

Participants will gain technical leadership, work with automation technology, and rotate through regional placements such as Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, York, Detroit, and more, with movement to field regions as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
• Permanent legal authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite troubleshooting for automation technologies.
• Install, configure, and update control system equipment and software.
• Advise customers on proper use and maintenance of Rockwell products.
• Travel as required to cover the assigned field region.
• Support development and implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Build collaborative relationships and embody Rockwell's culture of integrity and inclusion.

Rockwell Automation's 1-year to 2-year Leadership Development Program (LDP) that provides associates with the tools needed to begin developing their technical leadership and innovation skills within a global company.

As an associate on the Delivery (Field Service) Engineering team, you will...

• Strengthen technical and leadership competencies through classroom training, mentoring, career planning and networking.

• Establish a foundation of skills via Rockwell Automation's Engineer in Training (EIT) Program. EIT is an entry-level program with formal classroom training and experiential learning.

• Use Rockwell Automation's industrial automation technology to support The Connected Enterprise across a variety of industries. This may include information software, programmable controllers, process control, industrial Ethernet, motion control, industrial components, variable frequency drives, and more.

Program Overview

Location: Mayfield Heights, OH | Approx. 6 months

• Engineer in Training Program | Location: Mayfield Heights, OH

• Specialized Training: Process, Software, Motion, or Variable Frequency Drives

• Location: Twinsburg, OH; Milwaukee, WI; or Richland Center, WI | Approx. 1 month

• Hands-On Wiring and Installation Training

Placement Location: You will be assigned to a Field Region based on business need and employee preference.

• One (1) engineer will be placed in a Field Region per year

• Location Options include:

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite troubleshooting assistance for automation technologies.

• Install, replace, configure, and update control system equipment and software.

• Consult regarding the proper use, operation and maintenance of Rockwell Automation products and software.

• Respond to customer needs, ensuring a swift and quality response.

• Assist with development and implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

• Build collaborative relationships and embrace the Rockwell culture of integrity, diversity, and inclusion.

• Travel as required to cover assigned region/sub-region.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university

• Permanent legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• The ability to relocate every six months depending on opportunities and rotations

• Graduated in the past three years with a technically focused degree

• Interned with Rockwell Automation or met us through an event

• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

• Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to approach challenges with innovative solutions

• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines

• Proven experience collaborating with and leading others to achieve project goals

• The ability to present complex information to diverse audiences

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $82,000 - $84,000/annual. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
