Job summary

Hastings Insurance seeks a Data Engineering Manager to lead the data platforms, pipelines, and architecture that form the backbone of its enterprise data ecosystem.

You will oversee data movement, transformation, and integration across the organization, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure access for reporting and analytics. This role emphasizes engineering, infrastructure, and operations over BI-focused tasks.

Qualifications

• Leads data engineering, warehousing, and integration teams.
• Designs, develops, and supports enterprise data pipelines and platforms.
• Supports modernization across data environments and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for enterprise data engineering, data warehousing, integration, and platform operations.
• Provide technical leadership for design, development, deployment, and support of data pipelines and platforms.
• Guide architecture and modernization balancing current needs with long-term scalability.
• Ensure reliable ingestion, movement, transformation, integration, and delivery of data across enterprise systems.
• Establish engineering practices that improve data quality, lineage, governance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with BI, IT engineering, product owners, and stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
• Oversee production support and operational health of data solutions, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
