Job summary

Rainbow’s End Learning Center, operated with PathWays of Southwestern Pennsylvania, seeks a Group Supervisor to oversee a classroom for ages 6 weeks to school age in a safe, nurturing setting. You will guide routines, create engaging lesson plans, and support children and staff to thrive.

The role requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education (plus relevant hours) and may prefer a CDA credential.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or related field required with childcare experience.
• Associates with 2500 hours or bachelors with 1250 hours of experience are acceptable.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred; assistance to enroll available.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a classroom of children aged 6 weeks to school age in a safe, nurturing, and playful learning environment.
• Guide daily routines and develop creative lesson plans.
• Support children and staff to thrive and grow.
• Assist children with basic care needs (hand washing, tying shoes).
• Communicate with parents about milestones and daily progress.
• Maintain classroom documentation and lesson plans aligned with Keystone STARS standards.
• Provide daily activity and meal sheets for each child.
• Float between classrooms to maintain safe staff-child ratios.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Group Supervisor, you’ll lead and inspire a classroom of curious minds (ages 6 weeks to school age) in a safe, nurturing, and playful learning environment. You’ll guide daily routines, develop creative lesson plans, and support both children and staff to thrive. This role is perfect for someone who’s organized, compassionate, and loves to see kids grow and succeed!

• Assisting children with basic care needs – from hand washing to shoe tying
• Creating a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom (yes, decorating counts!)
• Planning & leading fun, age-appropriate activities using Creative Curriculum
• Communicating with parents about the day’s big (and tiny) milestones
• Reporting any concerns, needs, or magical moments to the Program Director
• Keeping classroom documentation and lesson plans on point with Keystone STARS standards
• Providing daily activity and meal sheets for each child
• Floats between classrooms when needed to keep our ratios safe and our smiles big

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in education or a related field plus 2 years (2500 hours) of relevant childcare experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field plus 1 year (1250 hours) of experience — required
• A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential — preferred. If you don’t have it yet, we can help you enroll!

Clearances (We take safety seriously)

• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Clearance
• Department of Human Services Clearance
• FBI Clearance
• PA Child Abuse Clearance
• National Sex Offender Registry Clearance
• Clearances from other states if you lived outside Pennsylvania in last 5 years

Health Requirements

• Health assessment and TB (Mantoux) test required before your first day
• A new health assessment is required every two years

Physical Requirements

• Lift and move up to 30 lbs (with help for anything heavier)
• Be on your feet and moving most of the day
• Travel between PathWays locations or vendors if needed
• Use basic office equipment (computers, printers, etc.)

Physical Activities

• Sitting, standing, running, walking, crawling, stooping, squatting, and the occasional dance party
• Reaching, lifting, jumping, sliding, and maybe even finger painting!
• Normal vision needed for supervision and documentation
