Job summary

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) III Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) works in Surgery Service to provide a full range of wound care services with emphasis on quality, timeliness, and advancing VA mission.

Responsibilities include independent patient panel management, development of individualized care plans, wound assessment, and coordination with physicians and specialists to optimize outcomes for veterans.

Qualifications

• Duties include wound care assessments, debridement, wound care planning.
• Ability to coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses and specialists.
• Leadership in health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage a panel of patients with acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret labs and diagnostic studies; prescribe interventions.
• Provide patient and caregiver education and coordinate referrals.
