Melwood is seeking a Custodial Worker in Hanover, MD for a full-time evening shift from 3:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role requires cleaning tasks to meet contract specs and supervising occasional crew members while on site.
Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, trash disposal, dusting, restroom cleaning, floor care, window cleaning, snow removal, and reporting supplies needed to the supervisor.
The core working hours are 3:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The hourly wage is $19.56. This is a full‑time position with a competitive salary.
This position requires a successful criminal history background check, drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Personal vehicle use may be required; liability insurance on your personal vehicle must be in full force while transporting for Melwood. Melwood will reimburse mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.
Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in monitoring the custodial crew’s work.

The Vice President of Human Resources supervises the Corporate/International Recruitment Manager, Staff Training Manager, Compensation & Benefits Manager, Human Resources Administrator, and Human Resources Administrative Assistant.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
The incumbent is supervised by the Custodial Foreman.
The incumbent must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time; and sit 10%. He/she must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. He/she must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. These requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches and corners. He/she must be able to communicate with supervisors and co workers; must good vision, with depth perception and ability to distinguish colors for safety reasons.
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year experience in custodial work required. Some supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
