Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of custodial experience required.
• Floor care experience required.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops hallways, stairs, and offices.
• Empties tenants' waste baskets and disposes of trash.
• Dusts horizontal surfaces.
• Cleans bathrooms.
• Waxes and buffs floors with buffers.
• Routinely cleans glass and windows.
• Washes walls and other vertical surfaces.
• Performs snow removal if required by contract.
• Polishes kick panels, doorknobs, fixtures.
• Strips and waxes floors.
• Vacuum carpets/rugs.
• Mixes cleaning solutions.
• Maintains issued equipment.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Supervises activities of assigned workers temporarily.
• Assumes responsibility for crew during foreman absence.
• Performs other duties assigned by Custodial Foreman

Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, performs the cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in monitoring the custodial crew's work. The Lead Worker Custodial position is full-time, with the core working hours being 7:30 am-4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. The position is in Beltsville, MD, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. The hourly wage is $19.62. This position may require use of your personal vehicle to transport persons served. The Lead Worker Custodial position requires that the employee must complete criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Worker supervises the work crew in the absence of the Custodial Foreman.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

The Custodial Foreman supervises the incumbent.

Physical Qualifications

The incumbent must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time and sit 10%. They must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. They must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach. These requirements are necessary for ladders and stairs and cleaning low areas, high areas, benches, and corners. They must be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workers, have good vision, have depth perception, and can distinguish colors for safety reasons.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in custodial work are required. Floor Care Experience is Required. Some supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
