Job summary

Mphasis in Spring, USA is seeking a Senior/Lead Windows Device Driver, Firmware & Application Developer with deep expertise in C/C++, Windows Internals, and driver development. You will design and implement Windows applications, device drivers, and firmware tools across x64 and ARM64/ARM64EC, and lead efforts to port software to new Windows versions.

The role emphasizes debugging, certification support (HLK/WHQL), driver signing, and collaboration with firmware, hardware, QA, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 12-16 years of hands‑on software development on Windows.
• Expert proficiency in C/C++ with C++14/17 knowledge.
• Experience with Qt, Win32 API, MFC for Windows apps.
• Strong Windows Internals understanding (processes, threads, services, registry, UAC).
• Proficient in Windows Device Driver development using WDF/KMDF/UMDF.
• Experience with BIOS/Firmware update and recovery tools.
• ARM64/ARM64EC experience incl. Windows on ARM and porting.
• Knowledge of WMI and Windows device/firmware management.
• Experience with HLK/WHQL certification, driver signing and release.
• Strong debugging with Visual Studio, WinDbg, TraceView, ETW.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Windows apps, device drivers, and firmware tools.
• Develop and enhance Qt-based UI apps and integrate with Windows components.
• Maintain KMDF/UMDF/WDF drivers and support x64 and ARM64 platforms.
• Implement firmware/BIOS update and recovery functionality.
• Utilize WMI for device and firmware management.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues via root-cause analysis and debugging.
• Support HLK/WHQL certification and drive certification resolutions.
• Manage driver signing, packaging, and product releases.
• Lead porting to new Windows versions, VS/SDK/WDK updates, and hardware architectures.
• Ensure security compliance and perform code/design reviews.
• Collaborate with firmware, BIOS, hardware, driver, QA, security, and release teams.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring in C++, Windows Internals, and ARM.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum planning, estimation, and reviews.
