Job summary

American Equipment Holdings is seeking a Lead Welder / Fabricator to demonstrate welding expertise, read blueprints, and drive safety on the shop floor. The role combines hands-on fabrication with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of fabricators and coordinating with the Shop Manager.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years welding experience, 3+ years of leadership, and AWS D14.1 / D1.1 certifications to support crane and hoist projects across the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years welding experience.
• 3+ years leading others.
• AWS D14.1 / AWS D1.1 certification.

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process and perform accurate layouts to steel members
• Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
• Lead a group of 3 or more fabricators and assist the Shop Manager as needed.

Position Summary:

The Lead Welder / Fabricator will demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job to determine the appropriate welding process. Be a safety champion within the team, lead and model safe behaviors and drive continued safety improvements. This position leads others and is also hands on in the fabrication process.
