Job summary

Rodney Hunt is seeking a Welder IV to provide expert welding and fabrication leadership in our shop. This role partners with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure products meet stringent design, quality, and safety standards.

You will perform MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other materials, review drawings, mentor junior welders, and drive process improvements while ensuring safe rigging and material handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 10+ years welding and fabrication experience preferred; 8+ years minimum.
• Expert proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Mastery of blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation.
• Ability to pass advanced welding qualification tests.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop others in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding on diverse materials.
• Lead fabrication and assembly of large, complex structures for water control systems.
• Review blueprints and weld symbols to ensure design compliance.
• Set welding methods and parameters for quality, productivity, and safety.
• Inspect welds and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to welding personnel and support training.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
• Oversee rigging, lifting, and movement of large assemblies with cranes.
