Job summary

Life Fitness is seeking an experienced MIG/Pulse Welder to support the Weld area, ensuring quality parts and safe, productive operations. You will lead a team, set up and operate welding equipment, and work to maintain accurate production schedules and inventory controls.

The role requires 3–5 years of welding experience, Life Fitness-specific welding knowledge, and strong English communication. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experienced and proficient MIG/Pulse Welder with 3–5 years welding experience, including Life Fitness specific welding experience.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Read and interpret prints and process sheets.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Oracle and basic computer use.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.
• Must have tools necessary for the job.
• Lift up to 30 lbs frequently, up to 60% of shift; operate forklift/hoist/pallet jack.

Responsibilities

Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Assist in directing the day-to-day aspects of the Weld area while participating in the production of quality parts as needed to maximize safety, productivity and quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Train and direct the work of department employees in their responsibilities and safe working procedures
• Perform welding functions, set-up and operate all equipment in the department as needed
• Promote adherence to the production schedule in order to maintain accurate inventory levels
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform accurate and timely Oracle transactions
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed
• Report shortages, poor quality, supply needs, equipment breakdowns, safety hazards, incidents and performance issues to the supervisor
• Operate forklift, hoist and pallet jack

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experienced and proficient MIG/Pulse Welder with 3 – 5 years welding experience, including Life Fitness specific welding experience
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Solid organizational and problem solving skills
• Effectively communicate in English (read, write, speak and understand), including giving clear work direction to team members
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Read prints/work instructions
• Read and complete process sheets
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
• Proficient computer skills including Oracle and email
• Have tools necessary for the job

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift up to 30 lbs up to 60% of shift and 50 lbs less than 30% of shift; push/pull up to 30 lbs
• Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead and grasp tools as necessary
• Operate forklift, hoist and pallet jack

Your base wage will be between $30.75 - $41.25 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. The actual wage offer will be based on qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Production Bonus Plan, which provides opportunities to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to meeting certain production goals and other criteria as outlined. This position is eligible for a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift, in addition to the base hourly wage.
