Job summary

Ilba is seeking a Meteorologist to forecast and present weather content across platforms with clarity and engagement. The role emphasizes writing, reporting, and coordinating weather programming while responding to severe weather events and collaborating with a regional weather team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in weather reporting, a meteorology degree, strong English communication, and the ability to mentor others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English; excellent oral and written communication.
• Minimum five years’ experience in weather reporting or anchoring.
• Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
• Ability to coach or mentor others to improve skills.
• Strong meteorology knowledge and forecasting track record.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.

Responsibilities

• Produce and present weather reports for all platforms.
• Ensure weather content meets company standards for integrity and quality.
• Write and deliver concise weather stories.
• Assist in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather programming.
• Respond to breaking or severe weather events as required.
• Develop comprehensive weather coverage with the weather team.
• Participate in promotional activities and public appearances.
• Write web stories detailing the local forecast daily.
• Engage with viewers on social media.
