American Water is seeking a motivated Lead Plant Operator to join our team in Claysville, PA. You will monitor treatment plant functions, establish flow, and coordinate with the distribution system to ensure continuous, safe water delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a DEP Wastewater License (Class A) and a high school diploma, with 5+ years’ experience in water treatment. This full‑time, on‑site role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with emergency on‑call duties and responsibilities for safety,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or engineering preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in water treatment and distribution.
• DEP Wastewater License- Class A, E-Subclass 2,3 and 4 is required.
• Valid driver license required.

Responsabilités

• Monitor treatment plant functions via gauges, graphs, meters, and control panels.
• Establish, maintain, and control flow through the treatment process and distribution system.
• Assist with pressure flow studies and routine repair of plant equipment.
• Order/obtain needed parts and supplies for operations.
• Assist and guide personnel in operations and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Perform water quality sampling, testing and analysis for regulatory compliance.
