Job summary

AH Engineering Consultants is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join our environmental engineering team in the Virginia area. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with 10+ years of municipal water and wastewater design experience, capable of leading projects and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will lead design activities for treatment facilities, pump stations, storage and pipelines; prepare or review reports, drawings and cost

Qualifications

• PE license required and 10+ years in municipal water/wastewater design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Experience leading design projects and coordinating teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design of water and wastewater facilities, pumps, storage, and pipelines.
• Prepare or review reports, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Manage design projects and support bidding and construction; coordinate with clients and regulators.
• Provide technical leadership, design oversight, and QC for deliverables.
• Assist permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Participate in client meetings, proposals, and business development.
• Assist scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
