Job summary

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply seeks two Lead Water Plant Maintenance Mechanics in Honolulu to supervise and perform installation, repair, maintenance and overhaul of water pumping plant equipment and related systems.

You will lead troubleshooting, oversee valve systems, and supervise installation and repair of electrical and electronic devices, ensuring safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training sufficient to show demonstrated competence in performing the journey level duties of a Water Plant Maintenance Mechanic.
• Examples of qualifying experience include roles like Airplane Mechanic, Fleet/Auto Mechanic, Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic, Machinist, Pumping Plant Mechanic, Industrial Plant Mechanic, Power Plant Mechanic, and Millwright.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of pumping plant and water system equipment, machinery, and instrumentation.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical and electrical equipment failures, using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.
• Oversee and conduct dismantling, servicing, and repair of various valve systems.
• Supervise and perform installation, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of electrical and electronic devices.
