Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Superintendent – Public Works to lead daily field operations for a major water treatment plant project in Santa Clara County, CA. You will oversee foremen, craft labor, and subcontractors to meet schedule and quality targets on a long-term assignment.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in construction with 5+ years in water/wastewater plants, strong field leadership, safety compliance, and the ability to coordinate with public agencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of construction experience; at least 5 years in water treatment plant projects
• 5+ years in construction of water and/or wastewater treatment plants of at least 25 mgd
• 5+ years as a general superintendent on major facility construction
• Experience managing field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and project execution
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience working for a contractor as a superintendent

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for a major water treatment plant project
• Oversee foremen, craft labor, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedule and quality standards
• Collaborate closely with project management on planning, sequencing, and execution
• Ensure full compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Troubleshoot constructability issues and proactively resolve challenges onsite
• Oversee project documentation, field reporting, and coordination with agency representatives
