Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Lead Warehouse Worker to join the Elite Travel team in Alburtis, PA. You will provide training support, supervise regular and temporary associates, and work with Operations Supervisors to meet productivity expectations.

During training you’ll stay at the home warehouse; after training you travel 75% nationally, with 1–3 week assignments. Base pay is $20/hour, plus $2/hour when at home and $5/hour while traveling, with meals and travel covered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation to work locations within 300 miles of home warehouse.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift, or job assignment to include heavy touch product and freezer/cooler environments.
• Must be able to learn Penske’s systems (RF, Scanning) and pass certification if not already certified.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% nationally (3 weeks on and 1 week off).
• Reliable, customer oriented and safety oriented.
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training new Warehouse Worker associates on all material handling equipment types and Penske RF systems.
• Communicate in a professional manner with Team and Customer(s).
• Unloading, checking, put away, picking, loading, audit, value-added services and various other projects.
• Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance (no more than three attendance points in a 12-month rolling period).
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws and regulations.

Job description

Position Summary

Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of our Elite Travel team. This is a great opportunity for safety-conscious individuals who have a pleasant, outgoing attitude and want to excel in a warehouse environment. Provide training support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associates. Works closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met. Provides a variety of responsibilities to meet the supervisors’ expectations.

Compensation

Lead Warehouse Worker will be paid a base hourly rate of $20.00/hour

Training

The successful candidate will complete training at their home warehouse location for up to 90 days prior to any travel taking place and must maintain an acceptable attendance and performance record during that training period. Training will consist of material handling equipment, RF systems, picking, packing, loading and various other warehouse functions.

Travel Expectations and Additional Compensation

• Associates will be paid an additional $5.00 per hour while working on a travel assignment.
• Upon successful completion of training, when working at home location, compensation will include a $2.00 differential per hour
• Travel Assignments will be 1 to 3 weeks minimum
• Must spend 75% of time at travel sites providing support
• Local work might not be available during the 25% of time at home.
• o If this happens, the home week will be unpaid or PTO can be taken, if available.
• Meal expenses covered during travel assignments
• Department will pay for Air Travel, Rental Cars and Hotels. Incidental expenses, such as rental car fuel expenses will be paid by the associate and reimbursed.
• Associate will be expected to drive to sites in their personal vehicle for assignments < 300 miles one-way
