GrowNYC is recruiting a Warehouse Packing Lead for the Wholesale Food Distribution team in New York. The role centers on coordinating daily packing operations, optimizing workflows, and ensuring quality standards without direct personnel management.

You will train staff on packing techniques, collaborate with logistics, and implement SOPs to improve product flow and efficiency. This is a full-time, in-person role with benefits and a union-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in food distribution operations with packing expertise.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and quality control for fresh produce.
• Ability to coordinate activities and provide technical guidance.
• Effective communication across multiple functional areas.
• Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily packing operations including workflow planning and QA oversight.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures for packing.
• Train team on packing techniques and food handling protocols.
• Oversee assembly and preparation of orders to spec and delivery schedules.
• Maintain quality control through inspections and checks.
• Collaborate with Logistics to align packing with routes.
• Provide feedback to improve product flow and efficiency.
